Switzerland could start again itself soon in a campaign for the Winter Olympics. The Parliament of the sport elected the executive council of Swiss Olympic to evaluate various candidatures for the tournaments of 2022, as soon as possible.
Joined together at the House of the Sport with Ittigen, the Parliament of the sport disney, which gathers the sports associations of the country, largely preached OJ in Switzerland with 385 positive votes, against two only abstentions.
After having received the green light of its general meeting, Swiss Olympic could present a concrete plan during the next year. Among the already quoted potential candidatures appear in particular the Grison duet St-Moritz/Davos, Geneva and central Switzerland.
For memory, Geneva had initially thought of launching out for the 2018 Olympics, before throwing sponge in December 2008 and engaging with the candidature of Annecy.
The edition of the OJ for which Switzerland could postulate is not yet given. It will strongly depend on the choice of the CIO for the tournaments of 2018, next on July 6. If the South Korean favourites of Pyeongchang carried it in front of Munich and Annecy, Switzerland could lorgner on the 2022 Olympics.
On the other hand, in the case of a European victory, Swiss Olympic should be folded back over 2026 even 2030 because of the rule (tacit) of alternation between the continents.
Up to now cat, Switzerland organized twice the OJ of winter armani, in 1928 with St-Moritz and 1948 always in the Grison station.
